1953 Plus 4 Flat Rad RHD
This right-hard 1953 Morgan Plus 4 Flat rad has been with the current owner since 2005. The car is powered by a 2,088cc inline-four Triumph engine with a TR3 block and TR4 head fitted with Weber 45 DCOE carburetors. The engine has Piper hot road cams, a tuned exhaust, and a Pertronix electronic ignition. Fuel is provided through dual (switchable) 3psi Carter electric fuel pumps.
The engine is mated to a four-speed low ratio Moss manual transmission which transfers power to a 3.7 ratio axle. Additional updated equipment includes front disc brakes, spin-on oil filter, oil cooler, “Gemmer-style” steering box, collapsible steering column, and conversion to 12 vdc with alternator.
A modern 7psi radiator is housed under a Flat Rad shell created by Vintage Sheet Metal of Malvern. The windscreen was also modified for a lower profile than a traditional Morgan Flat rad.
Tonneau cover, side curtains, and top are included. Top has a small hole.
Service performed under current ownership has consisted of having the rear end changed from a 4.1 to 3.7 ratio Salisbury axle. Brookland 15” steering wheel was changed to a 14” model. A dent in the rear body was repaired and the rear was repainted during current ownership. The front Koni shocks were replaced in 2020. The parking brake is operative.
The traditional front 4-seater seats have been updated to ‘bucket’ style seats and do not fold forward. Wings are protected with under-wing dent protectors; the vehicle is also outfitted with a roll bar.

ZDDP oil additives have been used since US import by seller’s father in early 2000’s. This Plus 4 is now offered with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
